3. Purpose and legal basis

Traveller requests

We use the data to receive and manage the expression of interest, understand the elements of the request and contact the user in relation to a possible future Italian Slow Drive service.

The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures taken at the request of the data subject, under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Partner applications and contacts

We use the data to evaluate the expression of interest, contact the potential partner and explore a possible collaboration.

The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures taken at the request of the data subject, under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Italian Slow Drive updates

When the user selects the optional consent checkbox, we may send updates about the development, launch and activities of Italian Slow Drive.

The legal basis is the data subject’s consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent is optional, not pre-selected, separate from the main request and may be withdrawn at any time. Refusing updates does not prevent the form from being submitted.

4. Providing the data

Fields marked as required are necessary to handle the request or expression of interest. Without those data we cannot receive or process the form correctly.

Phone number, website or social profile and message remain optional where indicated. Consent to receive updates is always optional.

5. Recipients

Personal data may be processed by the Data Controller, by authorised collaborators where strictly necessary and by technical providers acting on behalf of the Data Controller.

Current key technical providers may include Supabase for database and backend services, Vercel for hosting and application infrastructure and Aruba for the email service used by the @italianslowdrive.it domain.

These providers may process data as part of the technical services they supply. We do not sell or transfer contact lists to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. Technical services and providers

At this stage the landing page does not use Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, advertising pixels, reCAPTCHA or other tools for lead profiling.

Infrastructure providers may process technical logs strictly necessary for the operation and security of the service. The dedicated lead tables do not store IP addresses.

7. International data transfers

Italian Slow Drive uses international technology providers. Where processing involves transfers of personal data outside the European Economic Area, those transfers are carried out on the basis of the instruments provided by the GDPR, such as adequacy decisions, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or other safeguards under Articles 45 and 46 GDPR.

For information about the safeguards applicable to international transfers or how to obtain a copy of them, please contact privacy@italianslowdrive.it.

8. Retention period

Traveller and partner requests are retained for up to 24 months from the last meaningful contact, unless they are deleted or anonymised earlier. Further retention may occur only where necessary to comply with legal obligations or protect rights.

Data used to send updates are processed until consent is withdrawn and in any case for a maximum period of 24 months from consent, unless consent is renewed. This period is an internal policy chosen by the Data Controller in line with the storage limitation principle.

9. Security

We adopt technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risks of the processing, with the aim of protecting data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or unauthorised disclosure.

No system can guarantee absolute security; the measures will therefore be updated progressively as the project evolves.

10. Data subject rights

In the cases and within the limits provided by the GDPR, you may exercise the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, as well as withdrawal of consent where the processing is based on consent.

You can exercise your rights by writing to privacy@italianslowdrive.it. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

11. Withdrawal of marketing consent

Consent to receive Italian Slow Drive updates can be withdrawn at any time by writing to privacy@italianslowdrive.it. After withdrawal, we will no longer use the contact for updates, except for communications necessary to handle existing requests or comply with legal obligations.

12. Supervisory authority

If you believe that the processing of personal data breaches applicable data protection law, you may lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Italy, the supervisory authority is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

13. Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated when the project, the forms, technical services or processing activities change.

14. Contacts

For any question about this notice or the processing of personal data, you can write to privacy@italianslowdrive.it.

The landing does not involve automated decision-making, lead profiling or sale of personal data.
